«روز ارتش بر همه‌ی غیور مردان ارتش جمهوری اسلامی مبارک باد.

بی‌شک استراتژی امام در گذاشتن گل بر سر تفنگ سربازان ارتش سلطنتی از زمره  مهم‌ترین عوامل تسهیل‌کننده‌ انقلاببود. ارتش فرزند مردم است و هـیچ‌گاه از مادر و پدر خویش جز شاخه گل نخواهد گرفت و با همین پشتوانه‌ مردمی است  که در مقابل تجاوزگر می‌ایستد. ارتش آنگاه که ریشه در خانه‌های مردم داشته باشد، در مقابل هر تندباد و طوفان مقاوم است.

امید آنکه همواره بر تنفگتان، گل‌های محبت روید و در دل‌های‌تان عشق خدا و مردمان‌تان جوشد و در بازوان‌تان چنان نیرویی جلوه گر شود که هیچ نااهلی جرئت تهاجم به ایران را به ذهن خطور ندهد.»
