در پی درگذشت استاد باستانی پاریزی، حجت‌الاسلام والمسلمین سید حسن خمینی پیام تسلیتی صادر کرد. به گزارش پایگاه اطلاع رسانی جماران، متن پیام یادگار امام به این شرح است:

درگذشت استاد محمد ابراهیم باستانی پاریزی بی‌شک ضایعه‌ای جبران‌ناپذیر برای محیط علم و دانش ایران است. وسعت اطلاعات آن مرحوم و تلاش‌های مجدانه ایشان در تحقیق و باز شناسی افتخارات سرزمین عزیزمان برای همه کسانی که با آثار ایشان آشنایی دارند، شگفتی آفرین است‌.

اینجانب ضمن عرض تسلیت، درگذشت ایشان به بازماندگان و دوستان‌شان و هم‌چنین به مردم شریف استان کرمان - که مرحوم باستانی حقی بزرگ در معرفی آن دارد- از خداوند بزرگ برای ایشان غفران واسع مسئلت دارم.
