آفتاب: سایت جماران در یادداشتی نوشت: حجت الاسلام و المسلمین مخبر از شاگردان حاج حسن آقا و همدرس حاج علی آقا ماجرایی را بر روی صفحه شخصی خود منتشر کرده که خواندنش خالی از لطف نیست. ایشان نوشته‌اند:

روز سه شنبه ۲۹ آذر بود، نزدیک ساعت پنج، من و سید محمود مشغول مباحثه بودیم که سید علی آقا در حالی که با تلفن گفتگو می‌کردند و مدام اظهار تعجب و نفی می‌کردند وارد اتاق شدند. مکالمه که تمام شد پرسیدیم حاج آقا خبریه؟ گفتند: تماس گرفتند که از من خبری منتشر شده که انتخابات را تحریم کرده‌ام!
همان لحظه روی اینترنت رفتیم و پس از اندکی جستجو معلوم شد خبری از مصاحبه با حاج سید علی آقا منتشر شده اما نه درباره تحریم انتخابات بلکه درباره تشویق به حضور پر شور در انتخابات. حالا اصل ماجرا چه بوده است:

دوشنبه عصر سید علی آقای خمینی برای شرکت در مراسم ختم مرحوم خلیلی که پدر شهید و شوهر خواهر حاج آقا سید محمد خاتمی بودند به تهران رفتند. در ورودی مسجد با جمعی از خبرنگاران مواجه می‌شوند که از ایشان تقاضای انجام مصاحبه داشتند اما سید علی آقا با بیان این که حوصله مصاحبه ندارم از انجام تقاضای آنان خودداری می‌کنند و در حالی که با آقای جواد اطاعت مشغول سخن گفتن بودند به سمت صحن مسجد حرکت می‌کنند.

خبرنگاران که تلاششان برای مصاحبه با سیدعلی آقا بی نتیجه مانده بود از ورود به صحن مجلس خود داری می‌کنند مگر خانمی که به حسب ظاهر خبرنگار باشگاه خبر نگاران جوان بوده. آن خانم مُصرانه به دنبال سید علی آقا وارد صحن مسجد می‌شود و مدام از ایشان سؤال می‌کند. می‌پرسیده که نظر شما درباره انتخابات مجلس چیست؟ سید علی آقا سکوت می‌کند و همچنان به راهش ادامه می‌دهد. خبرنگار دوباره می‌پرسد: آیا با شکوه برگزار می‌شود؟ سیدعلی آقا این بار نیز با سکوت و لبخند از پاسخ دادن خود داری می‌کنند. خبرنگار دوباره می‌پرسد: چرا مصاحبه نمی‌کنید؟ سؤال من درباره انتخابات است! انشاء الله که پر شور و با مشارکت مردم برگزار می‌شود!

سیدعلی آقا در حالیکه با جمعی از حاضرین در موحطه مسجد مشغول احوالپرسی بوده و مسیرش را به سمت داخل مسجد ادامه می‌داده پاسخ می‌دهد : انشاء الله.
و همین یک جمله می‌شود منشاء متن خبری که اول از همه به گزارش خبرگزاری باشگاه خبرنگاران جوان منتشر شد و پس از آن تابناک، جهان، رجا، مشرق، خبر آنلاین و... آن را باز نشر کردند.
