در مراسم بیست و سومین سالگرد ارتحال حضرت امام خمینی(ره) که با حضور شخصیت‌های لشکری و کشوری و میهمانان خارجی برگزار شد، پس از قرائت قرآن و مرثیه‌سرایی، حجت‌الاسلام والمسلمین سیدحسن خمینی به سخنرانی پرداخت.

ایسنا نوشت: در حين سخنراني سيدحسن خميني، جمعي از حاضران بارها شعارهايي از قبيل "مرگ بر ضد ولايت فقيه"، "خوني كه در رگ ماست هديه به رهبر ماست"، "ما اهل كوفه نيستيم امام تنها بماند" و "اين همه لشكر آمده به عشق رهبر آمده" سر دادند و سخنراني نوه امام (ره) چندين بار به همين دليل قطع شد.
