نوه بنیانگذار انقلاب متولد اول مرداد است. سیدنرگس خمینی تولد پدرش را در صفحه اجتماعی خود تبریک گفته و برای او آرزوی سال‌های بسیار دارد.

سید احمد خمینی فرزند دوازده ساله سید حسن خمینی به مناسبت سالروز تولد پدرش (سید حسن خمینی) در روز 31 تیر 88 چنین نوشت : «فردا اول مرداد تولد پدرم است .پدر عزیزم تولدت مبارک .از خدا می‌خواهم هر روز بزرگ تر از روز قبل باشی و نور وجودت چشم دشمنان تنگ نظرت را کور کند . از خدا می‌خواهم همیشه پشت و پناهت باشد که حمایت او تنها تو را بس می باشد از خدا میخواهم وجود عزیز تو نازنینم را هیچ وقت از هیچ یک از ما نگیرد .پدر عزیزم رنگ سبز چشمانت رنگ صبر امید آزادی و شادی است .خدایا آن دو چشم زیبا را از ما نگیر .خدایا یوسف آل خمینی مورد حسد و مکر بدخواهان قرار گرفته . همانطور که وعده کرده ای مکر آنان را به خودشان برگردان و او را عزیز ایران و اسلام بگردان. من تولد ایشون رو به شما فرزند عزیز و رعنای آن بزرگوار و همچنین پدر جلیل القدر تبریک می گویم».

او یادآوری می‌کند که در کنار امام، شخصیت‌های بزرگی قرار داشتند که هرکدام از آنها سر سلسله جریانی بودند و اینگونه مردم صدایشان به گوش امام می‌رسید. به گفته وی «رهبر معظم انقلاب، آقایان هاشمی، موسوی اردبیلی، میرحسین موسوی و پدرم حاج احمد آقا در کنار امام حضور داشتند و هر کدام سر سلسله یک جریان بودند و همین باعث می‌شد که همه نیروهایی که در کشور مشغول به فعالیت بودند خود را در قدرت سهیم بدانند. همه آنها می‌توانستند هر عقیده‌ای را حداکثر با یک واسطه به امام و شورای سران منتقل کنند و مطمئن باشند که این نظر در تصمیم گیری‌ها لحاظ شده است».
