گفتنی است سیدصادق طباطبایی خواهر زاده امام موسی صدر و برادر همسر مرحوم سید احمد خمینی به دلیل سرطان ریه در دوسلدورف آلمان درگذشت.

اضافه می‌شود صادق طباطبایی در سال 1322 در شهر قم متولد شد. او فرزند آیت‌الله محمد باقر سلطانی بروجردی است. او پس از گذراندن دوران دبیرستان در شهر قم و اقامت کوتاهی نزد امام موسی صدر برای ادامه تحصیل راهی آلمان شد.

وی در رشته شیمی با درجه تخصص در شیمی آلی در دانشگاه آخن و سپس در دانشگاه بوخوم به تحصیل در رشته بیوشیمی پرداخت و سرانجام موفق به اخذ درجه دکتری در رشته بیوشیمی، در شاخه آنزیمولوژی و ژنتیک گردید و در سن سی و دو سالگی استاد دانشگاه بوخوم شد.

طباطبایی همچنین در سال 1971 (1350) به عضویت جامعه پژوهش گران آلمان DFG در آمده و نتایج پژوهش‌های او در مجله علمی FEBC، ارگان فدراسیون اروپایی بیوشیمیست ها منتشر می‌شده‌است. صادق طباطبائی در کنار تحصیل و رشد و تکامل علمی، به کارهای اجتماعی و سیاسی نیز پرداخته‌است. از مبارزه در سازمان کنفدراسیون دانشجویان و محصلین ایرانی گرفته تا بنیان گذاری و عضویت وی در اتحادیه انجمن های اسلامی دانشجویان در اروپا، آمریکا و کانادا و چند دوره دبیر روابط بین‌الملل آن سازمان و نیز عضویت در کادر سر دبیری فصل نامه عقیدتی سیاسی: اسلام مکتب مبارز؛ ارگان انتشاراتی اتحادیه انجمنهای اسلامی دانشجویان در اروپا، آمریکا و کانادا و بالاخره مبارزه علیه استبداد داخلی و استیلای خارجی همگام با سیاسیون مذهبی پیروان آیت‌الله خمینی، بخش هائی پر کار و پر تلاش در زندگی سیاسی وی به شمار می‌آید.
