من از كودكى در فضاى خانه اى كه با ورزش به خصوص فوتبال آشنا بود، حضور داشتم. پدرم به گفته آنها كه او را مى شناختند، در حد و اندازه اى بالاتر از شهر قم بازى مى كرده اند. به همين جهت هم به تمرينات تيم شاهين كه بعد ها تبديل به پرسپوليس شد، دعوت شده بودند و شايد اگر نبود ورود به عرصه روحانيت و همچنين موانع سياسى آن روزگار، به مراتب بالاتر هم مى رسيدند. ايشان البته هميشه مى گفت كاظم رحيمى(دوست نزديك دوره ورزشى و جوانيشان كه در همين تصوير هم ، نفر سوم نشسته از سمت راست است و در همان دوره بازيكن ثابت پرسپوليس بود و به تيم ملى هم دعوت شد) از من بهتر بود.

پدر گوش چپ بازى مى كرده و به عنوان بازيكنى بسيار سرعتى شناخته مى شده اند. جالب است كه احمد پسرم هم همين خصوصيات را در بازى فوتبالش دارد و كسانى كه بازى هر دو را ديده اند به شباهت آنها حكم مى كنند. البته بازى من نوعى ديگر بود. خدا همه رفتگان را بيامرزد؛ زندگى همراه با جريان زمان پيش مى رود و نقش ها از ما به يكديگر به ارث مى رسد
